Deeds & Words I & II; Before and After Exile, 1875
Original title: Actes et Paroles I; Avant L'Exil, Actes et Paroles II; Pendant L'Exil
Without an explicit motive, Hugo started publishing compilations of his public speeches and essays in 1875. Apparently they were reproduced unedited, with a preface added to each volume. Before Exile covers 1841-1851 and After Exile 1852-1870.
Since Exile was published in 1876 and yet another one, also with the title Since Exile, posthumously in 1889.
