On the Barricade, 1907

Based on: Les Misérables

This early French adaptation is a passage from Les Misérables; a young man is mistaken for a rioter and his mother arrives just as he is about to be executed.

'On the Barricade' may very well be an early sound film, as the director Alice Guy Blaché at this time had begun using a device called the 'Chronophonograph' to forward the sound to the audience.
