Los Miserables, 1943
Also known as: Les Misérables
This Mexican film begins when Jean Valjean and Cosette leaves the convent. The subsequent story is verysimilar to that of Hugo's novel: Thernardier trying to rob Jean Valejan; Cosette's affair with Marius; the barricade; etc. Fantine's story and how Jean Valjean adopted Cosette is told by Jean Valjean to Marius in flashbacks.
